Trees, flowers, and people do their best growing in spring!

Does this resonate with you? It certainly does for me! I'm embracing my journey this spring by lifting heavier weights and training for a 5km run. I’d love to hear about the new beginnings you’re exploring—let's inspire each other as we cultivate growth and vitality!

Journal Prompt

I encourage you to pause and reflect on this month’s journal prompt:

With the spirit of spring renewal in mind, consider what new or old practices you can adopt to nurture your body or mind. Whether you adopt a new fitness routine, practice mindfulness, or simply get more fresh air, every small SHIFT counts!

Spring Renewal Yoga Pose: Supported Plow Pose

If you want to ease your low back tension from your garden digging or want to incorporate a fun stretch, try the Supported Plow Pose (Halasana) using a chair. This pose not only helps relieve tension in your back but also enhances flexibility and promotes relaxation.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Set Up Your Space: Lie down facing away from the chair, positioning your head about two feet from the chair. For added comfort, use 2 or 3 folded blankets near the chair, ensuring your shoulders rest on the edge.

2. Lift Your Legs: Slowly raise your legs into the Supported Shoulderstand (Salamba Sarvangasana), using your hands for support on your lower back.

3. Find Balance: Gently lower your legs until your feet meet the chair. Press your feet into the chair, straighten your legs, and feel your spine lengthen.

4. Breathe Deeply: You can either keep your hands on your lower back or interlace them behind you on the blanket. Stay in this restorative pose for several deep breaths, allowing yourself to release any tension and embrace renewal.

5. Exit Gracefully: To come out, slowly lower your back down and bring your feet back to the floor. Use your hands for support or bend your knees as you ease into rest.
