At Shift Adventures, we offer retreats that allow you to put yourself first. Join Kathy (the talkative one) and Rochelle (your quiet encouragement) on a trip where you will interact with your surroundings through yoga, strength training, and adventurous activities, while taking the time to unwind and have a margarita (or two)!


Hi, Rochelle.

Rochelle has always had a passion for movement — whether it was swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, or just saying yes to every new adventure she could find, being outdoors and trying new things has always been her way of staying connected to herself. Rochelle believes that our physical, mental, and emotional health are all deeply connected — and that when we challenge ourselves with new experiences, we find a better balance in all three. Even before making fitness her career, she was fascinated by the way the body moves and how every part fits together in ways that are, frankly, pretty mind-blowing. She’s spent summers lifeguarding, teaching swimming lessons, traveling across Canada for gymnastics and movement courses, and diving deep into strength training with teachers like Ido Portal and Odelia Goldschmidt. Rochelle is now a certified personal trainer through CanFitPro, with CPR certification in hand — and a heart full of curiosity that’s always ready for a challenge. At home, she’s inspired daily by her two kids and her husband who is continuously pushing career boundaries of his own. Rochelle stays active not just to keep up with them, but to show her kids that strength, confidence, and joy are always worth chasing. During Shift Adventures’ retreats, Rochelle will invite you to connect to the world with a sense of play — whether you’re trying something new or diving deeper into what you already love. She believes that staying young at heart is key to keeping our bodies and minds thriving, no matter our age and looks forward to meeting you in beautiful Bucerías, Mexico, where you will learn what you are capable of and develop the confidence to face new adventures in life.

Hello, Kathy.

Kathy’s yoga journey started in a Las Vegas hotel room, when Rochelle showed her how to do a few sun salutations. At the time, Kathy was training for a half marathon and figured yoga might help her stay healthy and injury-free. It turned out to be so much more than that! What started as a few classes turned into something she couldn’t imagine being without. In 2019, Kathy jumped into a 300-hour yoga teacher training (nervous she wasn’t flexible or strong enough) and quickly realized that yoga isn’t about any of that. If you're alive, you can be a yogi. Kathy is a mom to two wild and wonderful kids, married to an equally energetic husband, and works as a paramedic with Alberta Health Services. Her yoga practice keeps her grounded, patient, and connected — whether she's balancing hectic schedules, facing the pressures of her day job, or heading outside to soak up the fresh air. At Shift Adventures retreats, Kathy shares her love of Yin yoga — a slower, meditative practice that helps you settle in and let go. (And yes, you might even find yourself holding a pose for a few minutes while the birds sing around you and the ocean waves crash in the distance.)
